The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 2-0 in preaseason after beating the NFC champions. Here are few observations from the game.
Andy Reid doesn't want to risk Jamaal Charles
Everyone knows that Jamaal is the most important cog in th Chiefs offense. Just like Lynch is in the Seahawks offense. An injury him would jeopardise the entire Chiefs season. And Reid knows this too. Jamaal had zero rushes last night and just three receptions. And to be honest I am cool with this. If I was coach Jamaal would be wrapped up in cotton wool until September the 13th.
James O'Shaunghnessy handy in the passing game
The departure of Anthony Fasnano led to the promotion of Travis Kelce to number one tight end. This left a mammoth hole in our roster considering how many 2 and 3 TE sets Reid likes to run.
James O'Shaunghnessy looks like he is capable of being a more than serviceable back up to Travis Kelce. He got his career off the mark with 2 receptions for 14 yards and the winning touchdown.

Marcus Peters looks the part
This years first round draft pick already seems more settled than the previous 2 first rounders. With Sean Smith suspended, there was fear amongst the Kingdom that Peyton Manning in week 2, and Aaron Rodgers in week 3 may torch the Chiefs secondary. Marcus Peters had another solid outing last night easing some of our fears.
P.S I want to apologise to Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallet for leaving you out.
Chase Daniel performs again - 8/12 82 yards and 1 TD
There has been a lot of talk about Chase over the last week, after a stellar performance against the Cardinals. Some people have even called for Chase to be named our starter! Although I don't agree with these calls, it is comforting knowing that if Smith went down with injury, Chase would be able to lead the offense.
And finally . . .
Alex Smith threw a TD to a receiver
Rejoice, it has happened. Jeremy Maclin scored his first TD after a 3 yard TD pass from Smith. Jeremy actually started in the backfield on this particular play. But I am sure we don't care where he starts the play. As long as he get's the ball in his hands.
Let's hope this is the first of many touchdowns for J-Mac.
